Impact of Coronavirus, Lunar New Year Holidays Extension
Dear Valued Customer,
In order to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus with outbreak in Wuhan, China authorities has announced that the Lunar New Year holidays will be extended to 2nd February 2020 across the country.
In addition, to date, several municipality and provincial governments have announced further extension of the holiday to 9th February 2020. These include:
• Guangdong Province
• Fujian Province
• Zhejiang Province
• Jiangsu Province
• Shandong Province
• Shanghai Municipality
• Chongqing Municipality
Emirates Shipping Line (ESL) gives the highest priority to ensure the health and safety of all our employees and partners. As such, we are allowing our employees in China to work from home, as required, until the situation is clarified and improves. The respective ESL staff will carry through day-to-day business and be available for your requests through email, mobile, WeChat and other available internet tools.
In the meantime, ESL is following up closely with all port authorities on their procedures for vessels calling China. To date, there has been no significant impact to vessel schedules.
As of now, other than Wuhan port, all other Chinese ports remain open.
