Dear Valued Customer
SUBJECT: COVID-19 / Imports Equipment Free Time – India “Free time period Revised”
With rising cases of COVID-19 in India, the Government of India has announced a lockdown of the country with effect on 25th March, 2020 for a period of 21 days. This lockdown will be till 14th April, 2020.
Considering this, we realize some cargo owners will temporarily cease operations or face challenges in transportation & documentation procedures during this period resulting in the disruption of imports.
As your trusted logistics partner, EMIRATES shall extend equipment free time from 22nd March till 14th April (both days inclusive). This concession is a one-off gesture, over and above any existing free time arrangement that is currently availed and agreed as part of any negotiated contractual terms.
For example, your container discharged on 20th March with ESL agreed free time 10 days.
20th – 21st as 2 days (ESL agreed) free time used, 22nd March – 14th April additional free time plus remaining (ESL agreed) free time 8 days, resulting in total free time ending on 22nd April, 2020.
