Mombasa Congestion Surcharge
|
| |
|
21st Jun, 2010 As a result of the recurring berthing congestions in Mombasa, vessels have to wait for average seven (7) to nine (9) days in the harbor before getting a berth. Hence, container carriers servicing this region are incurring extra high costs due to these delays.
For the need of recovering extra costs, starting with shipments from Indian Sub-continent and Middle East, we will implement a Mombasa Congestion Surcharge for all containers going southbound for Mombasa discharge. Details are as follows:
Scope: All Southbound containers ex Indian Sub-Continent and Middle East for Mombasa discharge
Quantum: USD150/teu Validity: from 1st July 2010 until further notice
Terms: payable by freight payers
Please contact our local Sales and Customer Service Representatives for details and bookings.
