Mombasa, Kenya
- Port and berth with average waiting time of around 3 days
- Due to pandemic, KPA (Kenya Port Authority) is working two shifts continuously with night curfew and the productivity is poor
- Heavy rain also impacting the operations at terminal and yard
- Yard population has increased due to slow pace of cargo clearance, especially for transit cargo
- Rail movement to ICD Embakasi is within 6 days
- Through BL shipments are delayed due to different measures by border customs for Covid-19
- Shipper Nomination of CFS has been suspended by Local Authorities
- Pilot run of new manifest system iCMS
Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania
- Berth waiting time is around 2-5 days
- Heavy rainfall delaying operations
- Yard capacity constraint affecting operations
- Through BL shipments are delayed due to different measures by border customs for Covid-19
- Shipper Nomination of ICD has been suspended by Local Authorities for improving yard congestion
Zanzibar, Tanzania
- Berth waiting time is approx. 10-13 days
- Yard operations impacting productivity
- Berth priority to government / tourist vessels / bulk carrier
- All shipping lines are affected by berth situation
- Our mainline GZX schedule is also impacted – e.g. Szczecin Trader 2005S arrived Zanzibar 17 Apr and berthed on 27 Apr
- Overall Transit times are delayed at transshipment ports (mainly Jebel Ali) for idling more than 2 weeks
- Carriers have requested Government and terminal for improvement
