We’re looking for a self-driven individual to take up the role of Manager, Finance and Accounting, who will report to the Global Chief Financial Officer and Local Managing Director. Primary day-to-day responsibilities include planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibilities for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, property management. The individual will also act as a sparring partner with the MD and across functions, to generate analyses to identify business opportunities which improve PL.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all accounts including AP, AR, GL, Fixed asset, Cost, PL, BS, and Reconcile, cash flow, forecast, and bank loan.
- Prepare monthly closing, yearly closing, and reports that are accurate and timely.
- Check reports and documents for submitting all business taxes,
- Support supervision, audit, business development bureau, and other departments as supervised and provided such supervision following the regulations.
- Have knowledge and understanding of the annual budget.

- Be responsible for supervising the operations of the accounts and continually solve problems.
- Supervise and manage the team and develop the team performance
- Any other relevant tasks or duties as assigned by HOD.
- Act as a facilitator to analyse and challenge performance, based on standardised meetings, ensure shortfalls in performance and opportunities for high performance are uncovered and that robust benefit tracking is in place
- Cost overview: Take ownership to provide the visibility of the cost, Unit cost, and the development of month-on-month
- Commitment/Compliance: Review and analyze performance and facilitate discussions about corrective actions including that clean up exercises take place.
- White-spot analysis: initiate cross functional collaboration with sales and Customer Service and operation in ensuring opportunities for growth are identified and plans are done and followed up
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an Accounting Manager in shipping or a related industry.
- Strong proficiency in English
- Ability to keep head cool under pressure and deal effectively with ambiguity.
- Strong interpersonal savvy and an eye for finding common ground and addressing performance issues in a positive though firm manner.
- Visible drive for results
- Ability to inspire others to strive higher and does not bind him/herself by functional and leadership level boundaries
