Manager, Human Resources – Dubai, United Arab Emirates

This role requires operational and strategic HR experience to support Emirates Shipping Line’s people and business agenda. Report directly to the Group Head of Corporate HR, who will be responsible for the Country HR and Admin Operations in Dubai Agency. He or she will act as a group focal point in driving performance, data, and rewards management at a group level.


  • Work in parallel with the Group HR VP and senior leaders in designing group-wide programs related to Performance, Talent, and Engagement.
  • Simplify various HR processes and make them scalable across the group, which is the growth we aspire to.
  • Lead and manage all aspects of the HR function for the Dubai agency, ensuring compliance with UAE labor laws and company policies.
  • Develop and implement strategic HR initiatives aligned with the overall business goals of the agency and the broader group.
  • Oversee the entire employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to performance management, compensation & benefits, and offboarding.
  • Act as a group focal point for performance, data, and rewards management, driving best practices and consistency across the group.
  • Manage employee relations, fostering a positive and productive work environment, and addressing employee concerns and grievances promptly.
  • Oversee and manage the HR administration function, including payroll, benefits administration, and recordkeeping.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant UAE labour laws and employment regulations, ensuring the agency operates in compliance.
  • Support the development and implementation of effective communication strategies to keep employees informed about HR policies and initiatives.
  • Advocate for and navigate organisational change, ensuring clear communication and employee buy-in throughout the process.
  • Streamline and optimise HR administrative processes (payroll, benefits, recordkeeping) to ensure compliance and minimise disruptions during periods of change.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 8 to 10 years of experience in managing core HR processes such as talent management, performance management, talent acquisition, employee engagement, and relations, and organizational development
  • Experience in managing significant change or project initiatives that have driven business growth across multi-site and regional teams
  • Knowledge of local labour laws and procedures in the UAE and the Middle East
  • Knowledge of employment regulations, trends, and practices will be a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or Business Administration, or an equivalent qualification
  • Business proficiency in the English language
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Data Management and Analytical Skills
  • Previous experience in project management, design thinking, and change management is preferred
