Assistant Manager / Executive, Pricing – Singapore

ESL Group seeks a motivated and proactive team player to join our organization as the Trade Executive / Assistant Manager.

This key role will manage pricing strategies to maximize revenue and profitability, playing a crucial part in optimizing pricing strategies, and aligning them with the company’s business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a basic shipping knowledge and the ability to work independently while also collaborating with others.

Responsibilities

  • Establish pricing strategies to maximize lifting, revenue, and profitability.
  • Understand the pricing process holistically across various stakeholders and the impact of various prices
  • Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to determine optimal pricing to achieve business goals.
  • Work with overseas agents and manage the daily pricing activities and resolve any operational issues from a commercial perspective.
  • Monitor service performance and analyze vessel profile to improve cargo mix for optimal results.
  • Support feasibility service studies, and actively participate in business development initiatives.
  • Maintain pricing data and ensure accuracy in pricing systems.
  • Gather market information about industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to pricing.
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties and projects as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Maritime, Business, Logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of progressive experience in shipping, freight forwarding, or logistics industry.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data to make pricing decisions.
  • Good market knowledge and strong communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Motivated and pro-active team player, ability to work independently and collaborate with other departments.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other pricing software/tools.
