Cargo Restrictions

All DG class cargo imports to Yangon must seek approval from the Yangon Port Authority and DG cargo must be taken out via direct delivery.

Prohibited Cargo:

IMCO classes 1, 5.1, 6.1 and 7 & Radioactive Material are prohibited, and the rest of the classes are accepted case by case.

Weight Restrictions

• All MMRGN port cranes have a maximum weight limitation of 35 metric tons.
• Heavy weights and cranes are subject to Terminal acceptance on a case-by-case basis and will be charged according to the terminal’s tariff.

2. BL for shipment into Yangon must show only actual consignee/actual notify party. (Not allowed to show NVOCC/Forwarder name as consignee/Notify Party).
3. For landed corrections, all amendments related to BL/Import Manifest details must be processed through the ESL transshipment office (Singapore or Port Klang) via the feeder operator. This includes amendments pertaining to:
   • Consignee
   • Notify Party
   • Cargo Description
   • Weight
   • Quantity

3. The ESL agent in Yangon, as a box operator, is not authorized to amend the manifest. Customs regulations permit only feeder lines to make amendments to the manifest.

4. Import shipment, if not claimed cargo within 60 days, will be sent for auction directly by port authority in Myanmar. The total amount gained from the auction will cover the cost of the storage fee.
   Import license/permit is strictly granted subject to commodity restrictions only.
5. Late amendment of B/L after manifest submitted to customs will subject to penalty/fines. Amount to be advised on the shipment-to-shipment basis.

6. For any inbound cargo to Yangon, please be reference below regulations to adhere to:
   • Freight Collection at Yangon is not allowed.
   • Forwarder Name on BL cannot be mentioned as Consignee, but it is ok to mention as notify party.
   • Name of Actual Consignee must appear on OBL as Consignee only.

By using cross-border permit/license, transit from Laem Chabang port through Laem Chabang to Ranong port by road and from Ranong port to Yangon port by water transport passing Kawthaung port.
