Scrap metal:

Scrap shipments with freight collect terms are not permitted for import into Thailand.

Prepaid shipments will continue to be accepted subject to the following conditions being met before booking confirmation:

Consignee names must be identified. ‘TO ORDER’ is unacceptable.
LOI from both shipper and consignee are requested on a shipment-by-shipment basis and prior to booking acceptance.
Consignee must have Import License issued from “Department of industrial works”
Consignee must pay container deposit 15,000THB per CNTR to carrier before ETA – 2 working days

Vehicles:
Vehicles imported to Thailand must be declared as DG cargo; IMO Class 9/ UNNO 3166

DG-Net (DG authorized system) must be submitted accordingly.
If a customer wishes to declare a vehicle shipment as non-DG, they must provide a certificate confirming that the vehicle’s fuel tank is empty, and its battery terminals have been disconnected.

Personal effects:

Consignee on BL must be represented by the freight forwarder only.

In transit shipments:

In transit shipments are only acceptable only for POD: Laem Chabang (THLCH)

The customer is required to clear the container within 30 days of its discharge at Laem Chabang Port. Failure to do so will result in the container being seized by customs authorities.

20’For Lat Krabang ICD (THLKR)
27 metric tons, cargo gross weight for dry.
26 metric tons, cargo gross weight for reefer.

For Imports

Payments to be made in Thai Baht only.
For dangerous cargo shipment imported to Thailand customers have to declare DG cargo via http://www.dg-net.orgwithin 5 days before ETA, Failure to comply will result in the cargo being denied discharge in accordance with port regulations.
For DG imports to Klong Toey, customers have to declare the cargo via http://www.dg-net.org AND https://eservice.port.co.th/EPort/memberlogin.xhtmlwithin 5 days before ETA. Failure to comply will result in the cargo being denied discharge in accordance with port regulations.
Marks and Numbers: “”Shipping Mark OR Marks and numbers”” is a mandatory field for Thailand import manifest submission. For any packaging that includes shipping marks, the corresponding shipping marks must be clearly specified on the related documentation. If the packaging does not display any shipping marks, the customer must explicitly indicate “NO SHIPPING MARK” on the relevant documents. Failure to comply may result in a penalty of up to THB 50,000 imposed on the importer.
If the consignee is an individual, the “Notify Party” must either be a Thai company or the individual must be represented by a freight forwarder to comply with customs regulations; a foreign individual cannot directly handle customs clearance on their own in Thailand, requiring a Thai entity to act on their behalf.
Invoice and credit party must be a Thai company.

In transit shipments:

Either consignee or notify party must be a Thai company to ensure that containers can be discharged at a Thai port. If consignee is foreigner, Notify Party must be Thai company.
Customers must clear the import containers within 45 days upon discharge at Laem Chabang to avoid the cargo being seized by customs.
In transit clause is required in cargo description.

For Exports

Payments to be made in Thai Baht only. Applied withholding tax 1%

- For DG cargo, shipment exported from Thailand, customers musts provide MSDS to local Customer Service team for submission into terminal system at least 24 hours prior proforma ETA.
Mark and numbers: The “Shipping Mark” or “Marks and Numbers” field is mandatory for declarations with Thai Customs. All packaging must have shipping marks accurately specified on the relevant documents. Failure to comply may result in a penalty of up to THB 50,000 imposed on the exporter.
