Cargo Restrictions:
Scrap metal:
Scrap shipments with freight collect terms are not permitted for import into Thailand.
Prepaid shipments will continue to be accepted subject to the following conditions being met before booking confirmation:
- Consignee names must be identified. ‘TO ORDER’ is unacceptable.
- LOI from both shipper and consignee are requested on a shipment-by-shipment basis and prior to booking acceptance.
- Consignee must have Import License issued from “Department of industrial works”
- Consignee must pay container deposit 15,000THB per CNTR to carrier before ETA – 2 working days
Vehicles:
Vehicles imported to Thailand must be declared as DG cargo; IMO Class 9/ UNNO 3166
- DG-Net (DG authorized system) must be submitted accordingly.
- If a customer wishes to declare a vehicle shipment as non-DG, they must provide a certificate confirming that the vehicle’s fuel tank is empty, and its battery terminals have been disconnected.
Personal effects:
Consignee on BL must be represented by the freight forwarder only.
In transit shipments:
In transit shipments are only acceptable only for POD: Laem Chabang (THLCH)
The customer is required to clear the container within 30 days of its discharge at Laem Chabang Port. Failure to do so will result in the container being seized by customs authorities.

- 20’For Laem Chabang (THLCH) Subject to payload of each container (Both Dry and reefer)
- 20’For Lat Krabang ICD (THLKR)
27 metric tons, cargo gross weight for dry.
26 metric tons, cargo gross weight for reefer.
- 20’ For Bangkok PAT (THBKB)
27 metric tons, cargo gross weight for dry. (G.W. not over 32.5 metric tons)
26 metric tons, cargo gross weight for reefer. (G.W. not over 32.5 metric tons)
- 40’ For Laem Chabang Port (THLCH)
Subject to payload of each container (Both Dry and reefer)
- 40’ For Lat Krabang ICD (THLKR)
26 Metric Tons, Cargo Gross Weight (DRY cargoes only)
Maximum cargo gross weight for reefer is 25 Metric Tons.
