ESL further solidifies presence in the Sultanate, with the Grand Opening of their new office.
As part of ESL’s commitment to staying a carrier of choice in the Sultanate of Oman, Emirates Shipping Line Agency (Muscat) LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Emirates Shipping Line (ESL), now represents ESL in the Sultanate of Oman.
Having been in the Sultanate since the company’s inception in 2006, ESL has grown alongside the Omani market. From moving under 1,000 TEUs in 2017 to shipping over 50,000 TEUs from Omani ports today, recent years have marked significant growth for ESL in the Sultanate.
With the country’s trade growth standing at 17.17% (World Integrated Trade Solution) – approximately three times of the world growth of 5.18% – Oman’s booming trade makes it a bright spot in the evolving global landscape, and ESL remains dedicated to being a key player in the market.
At present, the Sultanate is connected to ESL’s vast network via several major mainline services. The flagship Cosmos (CMX) service – which was launched earlier in the year – provides a direct routing with key ports in Central China, viz. Shanghai and Ningbo, and Southeast Asia, viz. Singapore and Port Klang. Oman is also well connected to the Indian Subcontinent via ESL’s Gulf Pakistan Shuttle (GPS) and India Gulf Express (IGX).
To meet the market’s growing demand, ESL looks toward creating more innovative network solutions, while further expanding overall network coverage to serve its customers and partners in the years to come.
ESL held a Grand Opening event on the 27th of October which was graced by their Chief Executive Officer, Till Ole Barrelet, and members of the company’s leadership team, to mark the milestone. The United Arab Emirates’ ‘Queen of the Sand’ Shayma Al Mughairy, violinist Juhaina Salman Albalushi, saxophonist Jelen de la Caridad and a traditional Omani band also showcased their talents, ramping up the evening’s energy.
